I can’t reiterate enough how important it is to PLAN if you expect to host a successful webinar.  There are so many components to a webinar that just forgetting one piece can mean disaster.  Over the next few weeks I’ll be outlining some of the more important parts of webinar planning.

Prepare
– Plan everything.  Create a schedule for all of the tasks that need to get done, including knowing who your speaker is, deciding how to register your audience, creating a budget and determining the best promotion outlets.

List
– Building an email distribution list is a vitally important to any long-term webinar marketing program.  These are the people who will be receiving invitations to your events as well as your best source for future sales. Get creative in capturing the email address of every potential webinar attendee by leveraging your website, PPC campaigns and social media outlets.
Audience– If you don’t get the right audience, your webinar will not reach the ears of the right people. Target whom you want to attend, who will benefit from the webinar and most importantly who will be a good prospect for your product or services.

Nurture
– Nurturing your promotions is vital.  A good communicator always does three things:  tells you what they are going to do, does it and then reminds you of what they just did.  This is the simplest and most effective way to get an audience to your webinar.  Be creative in your initial email.  Make your target audience want to attend.  Send follow up emails reminding your target audience when the webinar will be, and make sure you send a final reminder the day before.
